Description:
The LM393 series are dual independent precision voltage comparators capable of single or split supply operation. These devices are designed to permit a common mode range−to−ground level with a single-supply operation. Input offset voltage specifications as low as 2.0 mV make this device an excellent selection for many applications in consumer, automotive, and industrial electronics.
This device consists of two independent voltage comparators that are designed to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from dual supplies also is possible as long as the difference between the two supplies 36 V, and VCC is at least 1.5 V more positive than the input common-mode voltage. The current drain is independent of the supply voltage. The outputs can be connected to other open-collector outputs to achieve wired-AND relationships.
The application includes limit comparators, simple analog to digital converters; pulse, squarewave and time delay generators; wide range VCO; MOS clock timers; multivibrators, and high voltage digital logic gates. The LM193-N series was designed to directly interface with TTL and CMOS. When operated from both plus and minus power supplies, the LM19-N
series will directly interface with MOS logic where their low power drain is a distinct advantage over standard comparators.
